Are you interested in the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) or CPA Canada’s Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (ACAF)? Learn how CPA preparatory courses can help you meet the requirements of your chosen path.

CPA preparatory courses are a suite of 14 courses that provide the knowledge requirement for admission to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) and entry and technical courses for CPA Canada’s Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance. Designed with the working professional in mind, courses are offered on a part-time basis and combine online learning and self-study with an optional webinar for students that would like a more in-person class experience. Students complete only those modules they require.

The CPA preparatory courses are offered through the CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB). The CPAWSB delivers the CPA education programs on behalf of the four western provincial CPA bodies; BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

On May 27, 2016, the CPA PREP became the CPA preparatory courses and each course will be referred to by only its course name. Effective September 1, 2016, a degree will not be required to enroll in CPA preparatory courses. The admission criterion is now 30 credit hours of post-secondary study (equivalent to 10 courses) at a post-secondary institution or three years relevant work experience. Transcript evaluations for the new criteria will begin on August 1, 2016 in time for the course registration period that opens on August 15, 2016. Review the CPA preparatory courses for more information.

Note: Students are still required to complete a degree before admission to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).

View the short topic videos for an overview of how to interact with the portal. Do NOT create a new profile if you are an existing student with CPAWSB or if you think that you may already have created a profile.

Once you have created your profile, enter your post-secondary information, request and pay for a transcript evaluation and submit your post-secondary transcripts for evaluation. Official transcripts must be mailed directly from your post-secondary institution to the address provided in the portal.  If you hold credentials from outside of Canada, you may be required to request a basic transcript evaluation from a third party evaluator such as IQAS or WES.
