CPA Practical Experience Requirements (CPA PER)
To earn the CPA designation, you must complete the Practical Experience Requirements (PER) in addition to the education requirements. There are two routes for gaining your practical experience:
- Pre-Approved Program Route: Experience is gained in a pre-approved training program.
- Experience Verification Route: Experience is gained at an employer of choice.
Regardless of the route, you are required to complete a minimum of 30 months of relevant practical experience and develop both technical and enabling competencies as per the CPA Competency Map. At least twice a year, you are required to submit an experience report and document a completed meeting with a CPA Mentor to record your progress.
If you are unsure whether your past experience, current role, or an upcoming opportunity is relevant for the CPA Practical Experience Requirements, check the Practical Experience Self-Assessment Tool.
If you are seeking employment, CPA Saskatchewan has a job board: CPA SK Career Connect
